I am Erica, the founder of The Well Traveled Soul, proud Providence College alumna, ocean lover, passionate about travel, food, and connection, and planner of soul-stirring luxury getaways.
Born and raised in Rhode Island (Cranston, to be exact!), I’ve had a passport in hand since childhood. It all began with family cruises to Bermuda and road trips through New England. That early spark turned into a lifelong love affair with travel and eventually, a boutique agency built to help others experience the same joy of exploring the world with intention.
My journey in travel actually began back in the late ’90s, when I worked for Atwood World Travel—a beloved mom-and-pop agency located in Cranston, Rhode Island, known for its custom-guided tours to Italy. From booking flights and charming hotels to coordinating multi-day group itineraries through Tuscany and along the Amalfi Coast, it was travel planning in its purest (and most hands-on) form. It was also where I fell head over heels for Italy. That early experience shaped not only my love for the country, but also my commitment to thoughtful, client-centered service and to the art of designing travel that’s equal parts seamless and soul-stirring.
Today, travel is more than just my passion, it’s a full-on family lifestyle. My husband is my go-to planning partner (he actually loves spreadsheets), and our 16-year-old daughter has officially caught the travel bug. She scouts out boutique hotels, curates her own café lists, and reminds us that no trip is complete without something sweet. We also share life with two beloved pups, including our Potcake rescue from Turks & Caicos, and spend as much time as we can by the water, from Ocean Drive to Grace Bay.
Before launching The Well Traveled Soul, I spent more than two decades in corporate America, most recently as Chief of Staff to a successful tech CEO, and later as the co-founder of a software development firm. Those years sharpened my skills in leadership, strategic planning, and building meaningful, client-first relationships. I also served as project manager for the build-out of an award-winning, 32,000-square-foot office space—an experience that deepened my love for creating things from the ground up, both literally and figuratively.
Whether I was overseeing operations, scaling a business, or designing spaces that inspire, my work always came down to the same core principles: service, integrity, and thoughtful execution.
That entrepreneurial foundation now fuels how I design and deliver travel experiences...with the same blend of heart, strategy, and obsessive attention to detail that defined my corporate chapter.
Whether it’s a villa in Tuscany, a luxury island retreat in the Caribbean, or sailing through the Croatian coast, I design each trip with care, access, and insight. As a woman-owned business, I believe in service that feels elevated, yet deeply personal.
Let’s design something beautiful—together.
Now that you know a bit about me, let me introduce you to the heart of it all—The Well Traveled Soul.
This boutique travel design company was born from my passion for creating unforgettable, personalized journeys. It’s where thoughtful planning meets soulful storytelling, designed to leave you feeling inspired, connected, and deeply cared for.
Whether you're celebrating a milestone, taking a much-needed break, or gathering with loved ones, every trip is crafted with intention, elegance, and just the right amount of magic.
From multi-generational families to executive teams and curious solo travelers, I’ve planned it all...with meticulous detail, creativity, and a global network of trusted partners. The result? Seamless experiences that awaken all five senses and leave a lasting impression.
And while The Well Traveled Soul currently lives online, I have big dreams of bringing the travel agency back to Main Street—where we can connect face-to-face, spark ideas over coffee (or wine!), and inspire the kind of journeys that linger long after the suitcases are unpacked.
A trip with The Well Traveled Soul isn’t just about the destination—it’s about how you feel when you arrive... and long after you return.
Luxury isn’t just about where you stay—it’s about who you share the moments with. Family turns every journey into a memory worth savoring.
